Yesterday at 1019am, Ladder and Engine 47 assisted the Marion Fire Co with a chicken house fire at 1171 Route 419 in Marion Twp. Command 52 arrived on scene with light smoke showing from the egg packing area of the building.

Ladder 47 was first arriving and found hidden fire in a wall and accessed the attic area above and kept the fire in check with a pressurized water extinguisher to prevent the fire from extending to the main building as crews from Engines 52 and 27 (Rehrersburg) stretched an attack line from E52 and opened up the walls to expose the fire and extinguish it quickly, keeping damage to the building at a minimum. Crews from Richland Fire Co. also assisted with overhaul and ventilation.
