This afternoon just after 2pm, the WVFC and Richland Fire Co were dispatched for a house fire in the 100 Block of Main Street in the village of Stouchsburg in Marion Twp., assisting the Marion Fire Co.  Chief 52 arrived on scene and requested a second alarm bringing additional fire companies after bystanders reported an occupant still trapped inside.  

Ladder, Engine, and Tanker 47 made the response and assisted with numerous tasks including search, roof ventilation and overhaul.  

Crews encountered low visibility and extreme hoarding conditions throughout the home making searches extremely difficult.  Unfortunately one occupant was found deceased in the home. The WVFC passes along our condolences to the family and friends of those affected by this tragedy.
