In a time where tragedy has affected us all, the officers and members of the Womelsdorf Volunteer Fire Company want to take this time to offer all our residents in our run area to purchase a very inexpensive item that could mean the difference of life or death. Many times, we have been dispatched to an emergency call at a residence or business that has been extremely hard to find. What is the problem? People fail to present identifiable markings on either their residence or mailbox. There is a big difference between knowing the address and finding the address.

Improper addressing frustrates emergency responders, but it can be deadly to the residents because of delays that result. Proper address marking is the responsibility of a citizen, but as an emergency responder sometimes residents put the emergency services at fault for not finding them immediately. This problem has been recognized for years by public safety agencies and many communities have recently passed or started enforcing ordinances that require address numbers of certain types and sizes, but still the problem persists.

Together, we can minimize if not eliminate this chronic address problem.

We our offering for sale, a REFLECTIVE ADDRESS MARKER for your residence or business. Many of your friends and neighbors have already taken advantage by purchasing a marker. This marker is made out of 100% aluminum coated with engineer grade reflective vinyl, just like street signs and offer large, white reflective numbers. These markers will last for years to come. If for some reason you cannot afford a sign, we have several other ways you can make sure your local emergency services will find you. Here are several tips you can do to help your emergency services.

-Please make sure your residence AND your mailbox are properly marked.

-Make sure the numbers on your residence and mailbox are large and easy to read.

-Put numbers on both sides and on the front of your mailbox.

-Adding a last name to the mailbox can help locate a residence faster.

Time is the enemy. As emergency responders, is it critical to locate the emergency as soon as possible. We cannot waste valuable time searching for the correct response location.
