FIRE ALARM DOES ITS JOB AT WERNERSVILLE STATE HOSPITAL

Today just before 2pm Ladder 47 was dispatched for a fire alarm activation at Building 35 at the Wernersville State Hospital. FC18 arrived on scene a few minutes later with smoke from a 3rd floor window and a working fire, upgrading the assignment which added Engine 47 and requested the 2nd alarm.
Ladder 47 arrived as the 2nd due truck company and it's crew was assigned to perform the primary search of the 3rd floor in zero visibility. Engine 47 arrived as the 2nd due engine however the crew was assigned to check the roof.
Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire however there was a large amount of smoke inside the building which required numerous fans for ventilation. The company was on scene for several hours.
