RIT TEAM DUE ON KENHORST 3-ALARM FIRE

February 28, 2023

Early this morning at 0158 hours the WVFC was dispatched on the 3rd alarm assignment to 1432 Lancaster Ave, Kenhorst Borough, on the border with the City of Reading, assisting the Kenhorst Fire Company for a building fire. Numerous other fire companies were already on scene working to contain the stubborn and labor intensive fire.

Engine 47 made the response and upon arrival the RIT crew, personnel with the specific task of rescuing down or injured firefighters, set up on the Alpha/Bravo corner as the previous RIT crews on the earlier alarms were put to work. Personnel stood by until being released around 0400 hours.

This was the first response to Kenhorst in the company’s history.
