WVFC KEEPS BUSY WITH MULTIPLE CALLS AND A HOUSE FIRE |

The WVFC ran four calls on the day after Thanksgiving but fortunately was nothing was serious. 0916 - Ladder 47 due for a fire alarm to the Wernersville State Hospital; cancelled en-route.
Engine 26 with Chief 26 arrived on scene with smoke showing from the first floor of semi-detached home. Ladder 47 arrived taking side A and found a small outside fire against the rear of the home. Crews assisted with stretching an 1 3/4" line off of E26 to quickly extinguish the fire and checked for extension with the crew from E18-1 (WVFD) having to remove some of the siding and insulation. The fire was quickly placed under control and the assignment held to Companies 26 and 47. Crews monitored both homes for carbon monoxide and set up positive pressure ventilation fans to remove all smoke and carbon monoxide. The WVFC was on scene for about 1.5 hours. The fire is under investigation but does not appear suspicious. |
