RESERVE LADDER GETS NEW HOME |
| April 2, 2026 | |
| With the return of our 1997 Pierce ladder from refurbishment, it was time for our reserve ladder to move to its 4th home. The truck started it's life with the Levittown Fire Co. on Long Island, NY as Ladder 6, then to Old Forge, PA near Scranton as Ladder 93, then Womelsdorf as Ladder 47. The reserve ladder served Womelsdorf, Heidelberg Twp. and surrounding communities and exceeded expectations, being in service longer than we anticipated for 13 months, running 166 calls including 18 working fires. Most notably, it operated at a 4th alarm fire in Lebanon City, the first time the WVFC assisted at a working fire in Lebanon. On Friday, March 27, members of the Honey Brook Fire Co. in Chester County completed the sale and picked up their ladder truck, the first one in their company history. We thank the members of the HBFC for their patience and wish them the best with the ladder truck as they add to their capabilities for their community. |
