Yesterday 10 members from the volunteer fire brigade from our sister town in Womelsdorf, Germany were welcomed at the firehouse.

Since the 1990s if not before, residents from each Womelsdorf have visited each other’s towns, and in recent years, members of each town’s fire departments have formed a partnership, visiting with each other every few years, alternating travel to each other’s country.

As part of their vacation, the Germans will stay with locals in the area and will spend a few days taking in local sites and tourist attractions. They also plan to visit Washington DC, Philadelphia and Niagara Falls.
