Just after 5pm, Co.26 and Co. 47 were dispatched for a vehicle accident, unknown injuries, in the 900 BLK of W. Penn Ave. in Heidelberg Township. As units were responding, Berks County DES upgraded the call with entrapment and a second EMS unit was requested.

Chief 26 arrived on scene and confirmed a driver was confined and a door pop would need to be performed. Upon arrival, Engine 47 utilized it's combi-tool and within minutes was able to gain access. The patient was transferred to the care of EMS.

Fire police from both departments assisted with traffic control.
